Ruddington Houses Nearing Completion.

We are excited to report that our two contemporary houses in Ruddington are now nearing completion. Both houses have been built from SIPS (Structural insulated panels) so were designed and manufactured off-site. The kit of parts arrived on the back of an articulated lorry and were then lifted into place to create a water tight shell within two weeks. The triple glazed windows from Internorm were then installed.

Both houses are super insulated and airtight so a MVHR (Mechanical ventilation and heat recovery) system was required to ensure a constant supply of fresh air to all habitable rooms. It also removes moist stale air, reusing the heat to pre-heat the fresh air entering the building.

For comfort, and to reduce the carbon emissions of homes, it is important that homes have good airtightness levels, as well as good ventilation levels.

The house that faces Wilford Road has been clad in Western Red Cedar with a through colour silicon render to the plinth. The house to the rear uses brick slips and factory coated timber to give each dwelling it’s own personality and style.
